Japan's Crazy 'Air Hump' Dance Game

>> Tuesday, August 4, 2009

Don't feel dorky enough caterwauling "Still Alive" in Rock Band? This Japanese commercial for the rhythm game Audition makes it seem like the game is played by air humping. Check it out in the commercial below.

I like the idea of different ways to play dance and rhythm games. Shake your butt when an arrow crosses the screen? Squeeze your boobs when a red dot scrolls across? Or is all of that already in Wii Fit? Maybe I should finally get that game.

"Three Wolf Moon" Shirt Has Ironic Sales Spike

When Snakes On A Plane tanked at the box office, the conclusion was that lulz don't equal dollars. Just because something goes super-viral online, doesn't mean that internet users will actually shell out real money to support it. However, stellar sales of the actual Three Wolf Moon t-shirt are proving there may be money in memes after all.

Below is a very funny Know Your Meme episode about Three Wolf Moon - its history and blockbuster t-shirt status. Are you planning to buy any meme gear this year, like a Keyboard Cat t-shirt? Pedobear stuffed animals are great for kids birthdays!

7 Keyboard Cat Shirts You Can't FAIL To Own

Your wardrobe is missing something. No, it's not an alternate bathrobe to spend the day in. It's a series of Keyboard Cat t-shirts! If you truly love the cat who plays music while others fail, then it's important to acknowledge that love... in t-shirt form. Otherwise, when you go out wearing something else that's ridiculous, you might hear the faint sound of a cat playing piano.

Here are 7 real t-shirts featuring Keyboard Cat:

7. Hipster Keyboard Cat

You've gotta look all the way at the bottom of the shirt, but it's worth it. ($15.99)

6. The Official Shirt

Made by Charles "I Owned This Cat" Schmidt himself. ($18.95)

5. Black and White

Cool. Classic. You won't get played off for wearing this. ($17.50)

4. Customizable Word Bubble

Have Keyboard Cat say anything at all, such as, "I am a keyboard playing cat." ($19.95)

3. Keyboard Cat For Ladies

2. Keyboard Cat 8-Bit

Is Keyboard Cat gonna play every time I lose a life in Mario? ($17.99)

1. Three Keyboard Cat Moon

Burn, Spaceboy, Burn: A Sci-Fi Painting Goes Up In Flames

>> Monday, August 3, 2009

The Venture Bros. is a hit show on the much loved Adult Swim, but the show is not without it's crazy critics. Creator Jackson Publick entrusted a painting he loved of a child astronaut to the care of a friend. The friend decided to light it on fire and post the video on YouTube.

Why do child astronauts always court disaster? I guess you've got to be careful who you send into space, just like you've got to be careful who you leave your stuff with. Rest in peace, Spaceboy.

Dungeons and Dragons Player Attempts A Pap Smear

Ladies, watch out for nerd doctors. Sure, they can rise to top of their classes at med school, but when it comes to examining vaginas, as this Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal comic shows, some of us have trouble getting... er, results.

I like the idea of "Vaginomancy." There should be a special area of Dungeons and Dragons magic that deals solely with the art of vaginal interaction. Perhaps an awesome magical vibrator forms in thin air, or maybe it just works like that stupid French guy in the Matrix sequels. Either way, let's work this into the next edition of Dungeons and Dragons.

'Midnight Lover Batman': 7 Japanese Theme Songs For American Superheroes

With a Voltron-sized anime culture explosion here in the US, it's easy to forget that for many years, it's been us flooding the Japanese market with good ol' American superheroes. From Batman to Ninja Turtles, all of our greatest animated heroes have made it to the East. Often times, our shows get completely re-dubbed (or re-designed) and are given a more anime-esque opening theme song. Here are 7 Japanese openings for American superhero cartoons:

7. Batman

"Ba Ba Ba Bad Baby!"

6. X-Men

This animation looks better than our version, damn it.

5. Transformers

80s Executive: A cartoon about giant robots? Do we think Japanese audiences are gonna 'get' this?

4. Spider-Man

Now there's a Spider-Man weirder than the one in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater.

3. Power Puff Girls Z

Mojo Jojo actually looks kind of scary now.

2. Iron Man

Badass. Make it happen, Marvel.

1. TMNT: Superman Legend

Super Mutation? Saint Mutation? That's a lot more mutations than I'll ever need, thank you.

Honorable Mention: G.I. Joe

I was hoping Duke would pilot a giant robot in this version, but that's just not the case.

Caturday: Cat Bath Will Make You Cry

>> Saturday, August 1, 2009

It's Caturday, but we couldn't be sadder. Last week we saw a giraffe groom a cat, and we couldn't be in better spirits. The week before that was cats hunting a sock - what could be more precious or adorable? But not this week. This week, we are depressed.

Watch this sad, melodramatic video of a fuzzy cat getting a bath. The kitten's pleas fall on deaf ears, as the sounds of water splashing and sad piano music drown him out. Aww, poor little guy. I think he'll ultimately heal, but it's gonna take time.
